Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 7: District-in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has instructed the Mescom officials concerned to respond quickly to the issue of high amounts in electricity bills highlighted by the general public.

The minister held a high-level meeting in this regard in the office of the deputy commissioner on Saturday, June 6.

Poojary further said, "As the bill is for the months of March and April, the amount is more. But citizens are complaining that the unit rate is also more.

"Mescom officials should conduct a meeting with the public and hear their woes. They should also respond to the public through social media and helplines. In addition, Mescom should also allow public to pay bill in instalments," he said.

Snehal R, MD of Mescom said, "We have issued the bills at the specified rate to our consumers. There is no mistake in that. We have not added even the interest on it. If the amount mentioned is more, the same will be adjusted in the next bill. The bill amount can also be paid in instalments. Any complaint can be resolved by meeting the officials of the respective Mescom subdivisions. In addition, compalint can also be raised by contacting the helpline number 1912 or WhatsApp number 9483041912."

April, May combined bill from Mescom has no mistakes. Pls review your bill by these points: 1) They have taken the present actual meter reading on the day of billing (13th May in my case). Note, the Last reading was on 13-March. The difference between last reading and present reading is the unit consumption of 2 months. Calculate the unit by yourself. 2) Now check unit consumption mentioned in the bill. It is half of it. That means, they have devided the total consumed units equally for two months. 3) They calculated the bill for 1st half and then multiplied. 4) Hence, there is no question of charging of higher rates for higher consumption. You can check the applicable unit rates charges behind the bill. 5) Then the regular Fixed Charges and 9% Tax is added. Mescom should have sent a "bill calculation explainary memo" with the bill to avoid this misunderstanding mess. Message me if you need assistance in understanding your bill. dearmanchil@gmail.com

Any how due to Covid19, it is totally loss to everyone thorowout in India not only for Mescom, but also in every field. I suggest that MESCOM CAN WAVE 25% F THE BILL TO ALL CONSUMERS. And to close the matter. Why daily discussion regarding that matter. Finish the matter and close.

Mescom should collect money fron Central govt. Package which is announced last month 20 lakhs crores. Instead of that they are robbing customers. 90% customers paid there electricity bills. There is no transference left in mescom. District administration must look into the matter

Mescom has taken March & April bill together and just deducted what you paid in march ( without meeter reading) and at the total units of two month charged as over consumed and accordingly charged with hight rate . Someone has to drill in his head and give electric shock to understand the same.

MESCOM officials forgot that is two months bill. They forgot to divide the reading by 2 before charging the tariff.
I think they have to go back class 2 to learn division.
What is the other charges ? Can we get the clarification from genius MESCOM .?
