Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 6: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, said that 30,835 students have registered themselves for appearing in the SSLC examination being held from June 25.

She was speaking after presiding over the SSLC examination preparatory meeting at the office of the deputy commissioner here on Friday June 5. She revealed that Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation would be arranging free bus travel for the students and that the students can travel in those buses by showing their hall tickets. She said that the examination will continue till July 4. "As many as 95 examination centres have been set up in the district. Nineteen additional examination centres have been set aside and as per the government guidelines, 20 students will be allotted to each of the rooms," she stated.

"The students, before they appear for the examination, will be tested with thermal screening. If any symptoms of the disease are found they will be accommodated in separate room. For this purpose, 102 rest rooms would be readied. All the rooms where examination will be held need to be completely sanitised," she added.

The students will be given free masks being provided by scouts and guides as well as G Shankar Family Trust. Every examination centre will have four scouts’ teachers, who will serve as volunteers," said deputy director of public instruction, Malleswamy.

The deputy commissioner stated that 345 students from Kasargod will be appearing for the examination in the district and that they can enter Karnataka by showing hall tickets at the state border.

Second PU English examination

The second PU English examination will be held on June 18. As many as 26,704 students will appear for the examination. Fifty-one examination centres have been identified, she said, and instructed the officials to make all arrangements needed.

The deputy commissioner said that the question papers would be kept securely in the treasury and the vehicles transporting question papers will be provided with police escort. District and taluk level officials have to discharge duties as observers. The officials should make sure that there is no lapse relating to holding of the examination, she instructed.

Additional deputy commissioner M J Roopa, deputy commissioner of police Arunangshugiri, sub-divisional officer Madan Mohan and other officials were present.

Is government has done any study on the effects of mask on students specially if student is asthmatic? Have they given any guidance to students who have no experience in wearing mask? Have they studied the effects of carbon dioxide (inhaling breath) and less oxygen on students in stressful condition for more than 4.30 hours approx. (3.30 hours inside exam hall with head down and 1 hour before and after exam till they reach home). Its important to be pro-active. Is it not possible to reduce the duration of exam for 1 hour if exam is must?

What you said is true. But Even marriage Halls Church halls can be utilised to conduct exams for the students. Here children can be seated at larger gaps with or without masks.

I too can sacrifice some days as invigilator at the nearest Exam center without pay, if the Administration wishes. (I hardly go out after the pandemic broke here.) In future, these kids may be doctors/ engineers/ lawyers/ administrators/or some other professionals who may serve us.

Follow kerala model, time tested and successful. Kerala completed all SSLC and PU exams by end of May.
It works be wise to follow, as several DC give their own directions , Ending in chaos.
State govt should give one direction for all districts to follow which would help students immensely

My best wishes to students appearing for SSLC exam.

Life is the most difficult exam
    Many people fail because
    They try to copy others
    Not realizing that everyone
    Has a different question paper.

Lan...Sir, I have some clarifications... Firstly, why did your dad gave you this ADVICE at your tender age of 10? Did you fight with any opposite gender and you won but still she still tried to win over you?? 👎....i heard that Newman boys were very very mischievous until they find one girl friend?? Voi zalyar voi mun... You can call Bhandar Sir as your Bhishmacharya... But chemistry of both matches very well... You both are made for each other....
