Bengaluru: Full-day classes on Saturdays, reduced Dasara, Christmas holidays

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 15: It is almost certain that the students will have to contend with reduced Dasara and Christmas holidays as the coming academic year will begin late.

In the past, the practice was to give 21 days’ holiday for Dasara. Some institutions managed by Christians used to divide this holiday and make room for 10 days of Christmas holidays. Even before that, Dasara holidays would be for 29 days. With the increase in academic classes, this holiday was cut by eight days to 21.

This time, the lockdown has played havoc with the time table of the academic year. The department is under compulsion to teach the lessons within the time available and to hold examinations for CCE, due to this the education department has planned to clip down certain holidays.

One of the proposals is to conduct full-day classes on Saturdays in place of the current half-day classes.

The ensuing academic year, as per the time table drawn by the Department of Public Instruction, is to begin on May 29. The education department is contemplating to hold classes by following social distancing. It proposes to concentrate on holding the SSLC examination first and then consider the opening of schools.

Living with the reality of COVID19 doesn't mean that we expose our children to danger.
There is not yet any unanimously agreed course of treatment for this disease and in India the cases are on the rise , the rate has not slowed down.
How can we put out children's lives into danger?
Let us continue with online classes .I understand large majority of children in our country doesn't have access to internet but then the distance learning method can be made to work through television .UGC used to face such sessions.
Reopening school before September will be very risky for our children.cLet them lose a few months of schooling. This us an unprecedented situation.

Fighting infection n maintaining health is priority. Schools opening ...is out of question...this is not a simple ailment ...we don't even have vacccine in our hands just like entire world....schools opening would b a joke......no parent risks the life of kids....one academic yeàr gets wasted also there is no problem fa their future...life is much more important ....online classes from staying at home is only solution.....

    Dear sir,
Please solve the existing issues before going for new ones. Yes agreed that schools have to open at some point we have to live with it all... But with current situation if the pandemic gets to kids who have other ailments like bronchitis, asthma, wheezing, upper respiratory disorders etc. Thanks to the pollution what are we going to do? Are ther enough pediatrics who can handle? Do we have equipment, do we have children hospitals? They cannot be asked to lie near dead bodies or sit on floor. Will it no create more problems?
Kindly think in advance and act accordingly. Right now some schools do online classes. Yes as suggested we can ask local DD's or broadcasters to help on with classes along with schools.
Other nations have opened up but considering our population, not following laws as our badges that we wear sometimes IT IS NOT ADVICABLE to open schools. Only 10th and 12th can be considered from September thinking of social distancing or alternate days for sections like that... Not for other classes.
Please DON'T play with their health. We don't know how it will affect them internally and waste an entire generation life.
They will curse us. Please keep in mind.

The elected MLA's and MP's work from home and now wants students expose the pandemic. Let the start the assembly session and clean all pending work.

Do not cut the weekend holidays. This is time they need to recover. Reduce the unnecessary chapter from the syllabus that doesn't require for the future of the students. Other than the mandatory subjects reduce the burden of language subjects.

Not every Kanndiga has full previlage of smart phone with high speed connection. Ask the cable TV operators for broadcasting the classroom sessions. This will help connect the student with teachers.

    Don't risk the children's lives.

Government must first establish the criteria for commencement of next academic year, ensuring health and safety of children.
Secondly, if the face to face classes can not commence in the schools as of 1st June, what is the plan to commence online classes.
Can education department look into current syllabus, and cut down unnecessary portions, burdening the children.
When all these aspects are looked into then think about conducting the classes during Dasara or Christmas holidays. Having classes for children below 5th Standard must not be considered.

The Old way of attending school and campus for education will be history. Virtual education is the reality post coronavirus. Even if schools and colleges open, no parent in proper senses will send their children to school or college. Life is more valuable than education. So all this stunt of campus culture will not be a safe proposition. Parents please be wise. Choose virtual education and keep children safe.

This education department is sleeping ör living in the planet Mars ? They have no idea whats happening around them. They have no idea what coronavirus is all about. There is absolutely zero contol on it right now not only in India but all över the world. Forget about Dasara holidays ör Christmas. Ünless this virüs is completely gone ör a vaccine is found there is no way we are going to expose our children. Currently online schooling is the best option available till this virüs is gone. The department should seriously check on other options.

WHO has said, there is NO guarantee that there will be Vaccine available for Covid-19. It has been already known that it is difficult to have a vaccine for Corona virus family (SARS, MERS, Covid-19).

Malaria, Dengue, HIV, Chickengunya & lot of diseases do not have vaccine, though they are know to man more than decade or several decades.

Even if we get a Vaccine by Mid-2021. Producing Vaccine & giving Vaccine to everyone in the world, will take another 5-10 yrs (upto 2030).
As of now, No medicine available, but we can expect some treatment process & medicine by Mid-2021.

Only option available is - Improve your Bodies immunity system using Ayush Ministry guidelines.
All medicines & vaccines are built to prepare the body for the fight against SARS-CoV-2 virus.
End of the day, it is the Body, which has to fight every virus & bacteria comes inside body.

    WHO is who ???

These days WHO is telling something means we are listening to Chinese Broadcast... We can't understand Chinese language but WHO is just translating it to English.

Days are nearby ( By Gods sake / Insha Allah) for India to take the mantle of WHO.. We may also get a chance to stop Chinese broadcast..

Biggest worry now is - because of all round pressure, China may do havoc as it showed symptoms of it by creating disturbances at Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan areas...

Here due to lockdown loose cases are increasing day by day apart from this exams are not over and you all worried about school. Good move. We have had enough of holidays.
please reopen schools only after situation is pretty much under control.
Though we may have to live with this,in the near future,No parent is willing to risk their child's/childrens' lives unnecessarily.
with the monsoons arriving, we all very well know how situations are when there are heavy rains - unprecedented holidays ,again.
So,let's first wrap up the pending Board Exams, declare results and then resume school.
High school children have the capacity & mental understanding to follow rules.
