Media release

Mangaluru, Feb 23: The Department of PG Journalism and Mass Communication at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru, is organising a guest talk on "Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care" on February 24 at 10:30 am at Besant Girls National High School, Mangaluru.

The session aims to highlight the significance of adopting responsible menstrual care for a sustainable future. As environmental concerns continue to grow, sustainable menstrual products are emerging as popular alternatives to disposable pads and tampons.

During the talk, participants will learn about eco-friendly solutions such as menstrual cups, reusable cloth pads, and period underwear. These alternatives not only help reduce waste but also offer long-term cost savings, all while promoting personal health and benefiting the environment.

The session will feature Shilpa Shastry, managing partner at Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru. She is a health coach, educator, and advocate for reusable menstrual hygiene products.
