11 new coronavirus cases raise Karnataka's tally to 523


Bengaluru, Apr 28 (IANS): The 11 new Covid-19 cases in Karnataka on Tuesday have taken the state's tally to 523. "As of 5 p.m, cumulatively 523 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the state, it includes 20 deaths and 207 discharges," said a health official, here.

Among the 11 new cases, six are men and five women. Of the 295 active cases, 288 are isolated at designated hospitals and are stable, and seven in the ICU.

Of the new cases, nine are contacts of earlier cases, out of whom six alone are linked to positive case 425.

A 75-year-old man from Gadag is also suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and a 48-year-man from Bengaluru Urban tested positive for the virus from BBMP ward 135.

Kalaburagi contributed six cases, followed by Jamakhandi and Bagalkot (three) and Bengaluru Urban and Gadag (one each).

Following the shortage of blood due to the lockdown, Health and Family Welfare Department Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey has prepared an action plan.

"Most blood banks are facing shortage, resulting in difficulties in providing blood transfusion services to pregnant, post-natal mothers, accident cases and those with blood related diseases," said an official statement.

    Small place with large population. Now the time to think and reduce the population of Mumbai. After 1947 Mumbais population grown 1000 times. Now the politicians have to sit and think seriously to reduce the population of Mumbai.
