Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 27: Dakshina Kannada registered two more cases of coronavirus on Monday, April 27. No fresh cases were reported in Udupi.
As reported earlier, the two patients are a mother-son duo. The 80-years-old woman was getting treated for some ailment at First Neuro hospital in Padil and her 45-year-old son was with her to look after her. Both the woman and her son are residents of Kulshekar in the city.
As of April 27, a total of 39,516 people have been screened in the district, including 25 on Monday. A total of 2,296 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 1,944 have tested negative and 21 positive. Seven cases are currently active, and 12 have been discharged. Two patients have died.

A total of 59 persons have been quarantined at NIT-K Suratkal, including six new admissions on Monday, and 32 in ESI hospital.
Altogether 6,073 people have completed 28 days of home quarantine.
As many as 123 samples were sent for test on April 27. As many as 296 reports were received today among which 294 tested negative and two positive. Reports of 340 samples are awaited.
A total of 18 persons are admitted for observation. As many as 1,640 patients have been treated at fever clinics. Sixteen people have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
Meanwhile, Udupi recorded no fresh cases Monday. Three corona-positive patients have been cured and discharged from hospital.
As per statistics, a total of 3,347 persons, including 50 on Monday, have been detected, either with complaints of severe acute respiratory illness or contacts of corona-positive patients. Among them, 2,052 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 36 on Monday, and 2,752 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 64 on Monday.
A total of 521 people are presently under home quarantine.
Among those who are in hospital quarantine, 20 are high-risk, seven low-risk. Eight have been admitted to isolation wards on Monday, among whom seven have severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and one has influenza-like illness (ILI). Altogether, 47 persons are in isolation wards, while 308 have been discharged including 17 on Monday.
As many as 15 samples were collected on Monday, taking the total to 1,068. These include five samples of SARI symptoms, eight with ILI symptoms, and two from coronavirus suspect.
Out of the sample reports received so far, 1,025 have tested negative. Reports of 40 samples are awaited.
