Bantwal, Apr 26: Another person in Bantwal taluk has tested positive for coronavirus.
The lady, identified by number P-501, is a 47-year-old resident of Narikombu, Panemangalore.
The lady works as a sweeper in First Neuro Hospital, Padil.
It is learnt that she had come in contact with patient P-432, an elderly lady also from Bantwal, who died of coronavirus and who had previously been admitted to First Neuro Hospital.
As soon as P-432 had died, the staff at the hospital were quarantined and surrounding areas had been sealed.
A neighbour said that the lady had remained at home for two weeks during the lockdown, but returned to work the same day that the elderly corona patient died.
Local authorities have sealed down some of the areas surrounding the lady's house in Narikombu.
With this, five from Bantwal have tested positive for coronavirus so far. Two persons from a family who tested positive have passed away, while three others are in quarantine.
The new case has taken Dakshina Kannada's tally to 19, out of whom 12 have been dischared and five are under treatment.
