Bengaluru, Apr 24: Flummoxed by the quixotic ways of coronavirus disease that has often been unpredictable and asymptomatic, the government has reportedly decided to subject people in green zones too to coronavirus tests in addition to those in the red and orange zones. The government was also forced to take this decision in the light of rising cases of coronavirus infection coming to light with each day in red and orange zones.
So far, no cases of coronavirus infection have been reported from green zones. Moreover, no one is under quarantine in these places. But of late, there are increasing incidences where this virus was found in people who did not show any symptoms of the infection. Towards ensuring that these zones stay safe, the government this decision, it is being claimed.
The operation has begun from Kolar, where 100 to 200 persons per day are being tested.
On an average, about 2,000 people are put through these tests every day in the state. Reportedly, the stock of test kits is 15,000. The government has now chosen to follow Japan model in the light of patients without symptoms getting detected with infection. This may considerably increase the number of infected people in Karnataka, sources said.
