Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 20: No coronavirus cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Monday, April 20.
As of April 20, a total of 39,182 people have been screened in the district, out of who 47 are currently under home quarantine. Thirty-four people have been quarantined at NITK Surathkal. Fifteen have been quarantined in ESI hospital. A total of 6,026 people have completed 28 days of quarantine.
A total of 1,286 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 877 have tested negative and 15 positive. Two cases are currently active, and 12 have been discharged. One death has been was reported which was on Sunday, April 19.
As many as 255 samples were sent on April 20. Twenty-five tested negative. Reports of 394 samples are awaited.
Eleven persons are admitted for observation.
In Udupi, a total of 1,841 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, with 16 of them completing the period on April 20. A total of 2,207 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 45 persons on April 20.
As many as 649 persons are presently under home quarantine. Five persons were admitted to isolation wards on April 20 diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and influenza-like illness. Altogether, 33 are in isolation wards. A total of 246 persons have been discharged from the isolation wards, including 29 on Monday.
As many as 904 samples have been collected so far, including three from people who were in contact with coronavirus suspects. On Monday, 10 samples were collected and sent for testing.
Reports of 81 samples were received on Monday, and all of them tested negative.
Udupi district had recorded three coronavirus positive cases. All three patients have recovered and are discharged.
