Mangaluru: Excise officials raid illegal brewery, seize fermented juice

Mangaluru, Apr 18: The excise officials raided an illicit brewery involved with making liquor illegally located near Innoli within the limits of Konaje police station on Friday April 17. They took into possession different items used to make liquor during the raid.

The raid was conducted jointly on the bank of River Netravati at Innoli village by excise inspectors, sub-inspectors and staff and officials of the district team under the guidance of excise joint commissioner Shylaja Kote and excise superintendent Vinod Kumar.

The excise officials found 400 litres of fermented juice stored in two barrels by the river side at Sajila. A case was registered and further investigation will be conducted by Mangaluru south zone excise inspector Ratnakar Rai.

    Not just hats off to the excise department. We truly appreciate and salute to all the excise officials to such a great effort and wonderful raid during lock down.
    We always remain sincere thankful to such a raid and we all wish best of luck to conduct continuous raid in future too till June 30.....or permanently.
