Kasargod, Apr 14: The district, which had recently come under the savagely attack by COVID-19 pandemic, is limping back to normalcy slowly but steadily. There were no new coronavirus positive cases in Kasargod on Sunday and Monday. The number of those who are getting cured of the disease has been on the rise.
Thirty-eight people have been cured from the infection during the last two days. The infection was noticed in 166 people from the district so far. Seventy-three among them have been healed. Ninety-three people are getting treated in the hospital. The number of patients in isolation ward has also been on the decline. Ten patients from the district government hospital and two patients from the government general hospital were discharged on Monday.

As many as 10,056 people are under observation in the district. A total of 9,840 among them are in hospitals and 216 in isolation wards. Throat swabs of 106 people were collected and sent for test on Monday. Samples of 2,533 people had been sent for testing so far. The results of 1,659 among them were negative. Results of 540 people are yet to be received.
The owners of private buses have now been allowed to park their vehicles at suitable places. The buses were being parked in various places till now. District collector Dr D Sajith Babu, has said that these buses are allowed to be driven to their designated parking slots between 11 am on April 15 to 5 pm.
Campco has been permitted to function one day every week. Dr D Sajith Babu said that the company can function from 11 am till 5 pm on every Wednesday considering the hardship faced by areca nut growers.
