Mangaluru, Mar 28: Mangaluru city police have since locked down the city completely and are now strictly enforcing the lockdown rules. Earlier in the day, the central market was seen overflowing with people despite the government's announcement about complete lockdown of the district on March 28.

Now the police have been acting strictly and have taken all necessary measures to ensure that public movement is not allowed.

The police have been deployed at every corner of the prime locations, and barricades have been put up and strict action is being taken against the violators.

Now there has been complete lockdown of the city under the police supervision.

Only medical stores and emergency services are functioning during the complete lockdown of the district.

    Pls note this measure will only delay the spread but will not completely Stop it. It is better to go on with life as usual and to let the virus do its job and blow over.

    Hi Sir.. the virus in some cases has been undetected for upto 3 weeks since infection, it is wise for us to lock down so that who ever has been infected will be identified and treated.. if we all go about our daily life as usual, the chance of infection is too high for any hospital to sustain., Hence people will start dying in huge numbers, just because our helthcare couldn't take so many cases at once. So I think you need to be more sensitive about your fellow countrymens wellbeing.

    Dear Sir,
    do you feel your coment is justified in this juncture?
    ."....and to let the virus do its job and blow over". If you can not do the job, don't restrict/ preach others doing it!!!
    All these preventive measures are being carried out to the benefit of people.
    All of us know that everyone has to perish one day but it doesnot mean that we don't live until that day.
