Coimbatore, Feb 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to participate in the Maha Shivratri celebrations at Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation Yoga Center in Coimbatore on February 26. Joining him will be Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, as the event promises a night of spiritual and cultural experiences. The celebrations will begin at 6 pm on February 26 and continue until 6 am the following day.
A unique feature of this year's festivities is Sadhguru's Midnight Mahamantra (Aum Namah Shivaya) Initiation, a special chanting session designed to promote ultimate well-being. Following this, Sadhguru will guide attendees in the Shambho Meditation during the Brahma Muhurtham at 3:40 am, a time considered optimal for spiritual practices aimed at transcending physical limitations.
In addition to the spiritual sessions, Sadhguru will introduce the "Miracle of the Mind" free meditation app, which offers a 7-minute guided meditation, helping users incorporate daily meditation into their busy lives.
The 12-hour event will also feature a range of musical performances, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Renowned music composer duo Ajay-Atul, famous for their work in Hindi and Marathi cinema, will headline the musical segment. Other performers include Gujarati folk singer Muktidan Gadhvi, rapper Paradox, and CassMae, a 21-year-old visually impaired musician affectionately referred to as the “German daughter of India” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The stage will also showcase vibrant performances from various regional drummers, including Puneri Dhol, Punjabi Dhol, and Tamil Nadu drummers, as well as regional singers such as Satyaprakash Dharmar, Addula Jengi Reddy, M.V. Shubha, and Anoop. Sounds of Isha and Isha Samskriti will also perform, adding spiritual depth to the event.
The celebrations are expected to attract a diverse group of dignitaries from politics, sports, and entertainment. Among the prominent attendees are Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Rathod, and various MLAs from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, as confirmed by a statement from Sadhguru's office.
