Mangaluru, Mar 9: Sindhu B Rupesh, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, has asked the public to remain calm and not get tensed because of the escape of the suspected coronavirus patient from Wenlock hospital.
In a statement, DC Sindhu said, "So far there is no case of coronavirus reported in the district of Dakshina Kannada. There is no need for the public to panic. One of the overseas patients, who arrived from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport, had fever. So we had made arrangements to treat him at Wenlock hospital.
"The patient did not cooperate with the medical officers during the treatment. No one should get confused about this. Now that person is being convinced to undergo medical test but he is still adamant,” she said.
