Jaipur, Feb 25: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reiterated his government’s commitment to farmer welfare at the Kisan Samman Samaroh, a national-level event held at the State Agricultural Management Institute in Jaipur. Addressing the event virtually, he emphasized the state’s efforts to ensure the progress and prosperity of farmers and livestock keepers, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of agricultural upliftment.
Sharma announced that over Rs 1,400 cr had been transferred as the 19th instalment to more than 72 lac farmers in Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He stated that this initiative reflects the Centre’s dedication to strengthening the agricultural sector and ensuring financial stability for farmers.

During his speech, he highlighted various budgetary provisions aimed at boosting agriculture, including an increase in the Kisan Samman Nidhi amount to Rs 9,000 per farmer. He also noted that more than Rs 1,355 cr had been disbursed to over 70 lac farmers under the scheme, while short-term crop loans exceeding Rs 25,000 cr have been provided to 46 lakh farmers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance claims worth Rs 3,100 cr have been settled, offering financial relief to farmers affected by crop loss.
Sharma emphasized Rajasthan’s leading position in millet (Shri Ann) production and announced plans to establish Shri Ann-based product outlets in every district to further boost millet-based agriculture.
During the event, the Chief Minister distributed cheques to farmers under various welfare schemes and inaugurated an agricultural exhibition organized by the Agriculture Department. He explored stalls set up by different agricultural bodies and interacted with farmers and officials.
The ceremony was attended by Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena, Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak, MP Manju Sharma, Cooperation Secretary Manju Rajpal, Agriculture Secretary Rajan Vishal, and several other officials along with a large gathering of farmers.
