Dubai, Nov 12: The guest artistes for the upcoming seventh anniversary celebrations of Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah,scheduled to be held on Friday November 13 landed here on Wednesday November 11.
Sangha president, Noel D'Almeida, and other office bearers of the Sangha were present to offer a warm reception to the artistes at the airport.
Ravindra Prabhu, who has perfected the art of replicating the songs of S P Balasubramanyam exactly like the great singer, will be the key figure in entertainment part of the event. Along with Prabhu, Mangalore's melody queen, Anita Samson, who sings in Kannada, Tulu, Beary, Malayalam, Kodava, Hindi and Konkani languages, will be rendering songs in all these langauges. Roshan D'souza from Belman, who has two of his own Konkani albums to his credit, will be an added attraction, by his unique rendering of Konkani, Kannada and Hindi songs.
The entertainment event will be compered by Naveen Koppa, who has mastered the art of mimicking the voices of the Sandalwood stars.
Konkani's ace comedian, Dolla Nandigudda will be performing comedy in Tulu, along with the local talent, Santosh D’Souza.
More than 1000 people are expected to attend the show, which is all set to be presented at Asian Palace Hotel, Ajman.
Noel D'Almeida, prsident of Karnataka Sangha, promised that the event will be an entertainment feast for all the Kannadigas, including those who speak various local languages prevalent in Coastal Karnataka.
