Udupi, Feb 21: “A new trend of shouting ‘pro-Pakistan’ slogans is picking up. This is a planned strategy to propagate the values of Muhammad Ali Jinnah,” lashed by Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.
Speaking to the media in Udupi, she said people are being paid money and pressurized to say such statements for publicity. “Those who raise pro-Pakistan slogans should be severely published. There is a need to bring a change in the state and country laws. People enjoy benefits of this country but raise pro-Pakistan slogans. The people who propagate these attitudes should be identified. An investigation should be held and organisers of these rallies should be questioned. Amulya’s parents need to be questioned,” she said.
She also alleged that Amulya’s father who is from Koppa has close contact with Naxals. The police know about this. Amulya’s father is in contact with Sirimane Nagaraju and Naxal supporters. Investigation should be held and all should be arrested for sedition, she said.
“No lawyer should agree to fight their case. In the Hubballi sedition case, a lawyer from Bengaluru is fighting the case. No lawyer should agree to take up the cases of those who are anti-India. Those who disrespect India should be severely punished,” she said.
Responding to D K Shivakumar’s statement that Amulya should have been given a chance to talk, Karandlaje said that D K Shivakumar is not an original Congressman. A real Congressman would have never made this statement. They say that Congress was the party that fought for freedom. An investigation should be conducted against D K Shivakumar for his statement.
There is a need to identify those who are brainwashing the youth and are paying money to carry on these anti-national activities, she said.
