Mumbai (RBI), Feb 25: Harish Poojary Ankleshwar, a prominent social worker, philanthropist, and renowned hotelier, hoisted the Tulu Nadu flag at the historic Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, during the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The Kumbh Mela, which began on January 14 during the auspicious Makar Sankranti and Uttarayana period, concluded on Maha Shivaratri.
Harish Poojary, along with his family, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, fulfilling his devotion to his mother tongue and homeland. He prayed for the recognition of Tulu as a national language and expressed his pride in Tulu culture and traditions.




Harish Poojary, who serves as the President of the Gujarat Billava Sangha’s Ankleshwar Committee and Vice President of the Ankleshwar Tulu Sangha, is also a patron of the Sri Kshetra Gejjegiri and Gejjegiri Mela. Accompanied by his wife Shobha Poojary and children Manvit and Varnit, he participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela, braving the massive crowds to take the sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam.
Throughout the pilgrimage, Harish Poojary proudly carried the flags of Tulu Nadu and his revered spiritual leader, Brahmashree Narayana Guru, symbolizing his love for the Billava community and Tulu culture. His participation highlighted the rich traditions, culture, and devotion of Tulu Nadu, making it a memorable and proud moment for the community.
