Kuwait, Jul 20: Konkani Kullvar, Kuwait, a Konkani Writers’ Forum in the state of Kuwait, will be celebrating Konkani Day at 6.00 pm on Friday August 21, at Indian Community Girls School, Salmiya, here to commemorate the occasion of the recognition of Konkani language under the eighth schedule of the Indian constitution. 
 
On this occasion, one of the most senior Konkani activists will grace the programme as chief guest and another Konkani activist and Konkani writer from Kuwait will be honoured.
 
Variety entertainment competition:
 
Kullvar Rangmanchi will be organizing variety entertainment competitions on this occasion, to bring forth and identify the hidden talents in Kuwait and to support them. The competitions will be between groups of people only in Konkani language, comprising of a mixture of different talents.  The first two winners will be awarded with trophies and certificates.
 
Only five groups will be allowed and the last date for registration will be Saturday July 25.  For more information, rules and regulations, the organizers have to be contacted.  The talented / selected participants may get opportunities to perform in Rangmanchi’s forthcoming events.
 
Nenteanchi Kala:
 
The competition will be in the form of a two-minute talk on the topic given, meant for the children in the age group of five to eight years of age, in Konkani. A maximum of ten children will be allowed and last date for registration will be Saturday July 25.  The organizers will give the topics to the children in advance.

Other features:

The event will be marked by surprise gifts, games and fun for children and visitors to Kuwait.  The seats for senior Konkani artistes will be reserved at the venue.
