M'luru: Mangalore Theosophical Society MG Road to host 'Meditation for modern times' every Saturday

Mangaluru, Aug 21: Meditation for the modern times will be held at Mangalore Theosophical Society, MG Road every Saturday from 6 pm to 7 pm for next five weeks.

The speaker for the programme will be S A Mariadoss.

S A Mariadoss is an MSc, MPhil, PhD from Madras University and a retired professor of Mathematics and Management for PG and UG classes with 40+ years of teaching.

An active researcher in Maths in 2017, Mariadoss developed a Mathematical model for diabetes and meditation. He was invited as guest lecturer to international conferences on Mathematics.

Course of talks at Mangalore Theosophical Society will start on August 24 and the topic is 'Meditation for the modern times'.

Meditation is a precious gem. It is a remedy for stress, depression blood pressure, acidity and cardiovascular diseases.

The content of the course will be:
1. Basic meditation
2. Awakening of mind
3. Breathing patterns and scientific basis
4. Mindfulness by Dr John Kabat Zinn
5. Mindfulness for stress reduction and addiction
