Karkala: NMAM Institute of Technology inaugurates Centre of Excellence

Karkala, Aug 19: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte organised an inaugural function for Centre of Excellence sponsored by Texas Instruments under University Programme in association with STEPS Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd, academic partners of Texas Instruments on August 16.

V S Ramesh, director, STEPS Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd, India was chief guest of the event. He emphasized the University Programme of Texas Instruments and the association of STEPS Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd in the same. He also encouraged the students to register for India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019.

The principal of the institute, Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, in his presidential remarks encouraged the faculty and students to utilize the facility to its fullest. He also mentioned the importance of interdisciplinary projects in the modern era.

Dr Rekha Bhandarkar, HOD of E & C gave an insight into the process involved in setting up the Center of Excellence. She acknowledged the support of the management, the principal, Dr Parameshwaran, director, industry institute collaboration and heads of Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Information Science & Engineering.

Sunitha Lasrado, assistant professor, department of E & C was master of ceremony.

Durgaprasad, associate professor, department of E & C introduced the chief guest. Apoorva Kamath rendered the invocation. Faculty and students across various departments of the institute attended the event.
