Riyadh: Eagles Padubidri Wins ‘Riyadh Champions-09’ Cricket

Riyadh, Jun 22: In a tough but exciting fight against ‘Seven Star Mulky’, ‘Eagles Padubidri’ won the ‘Riyadh Champions-09’trophy in the cricket playoffs.

The tournament was held on Friday June 19, at Airport Road, by Seven Star Mulky in  the capital city of Saudi Arabia. Twenty-two teams participated in the tournament.

Hosts Seven Star Mulky have an outstanding track record of winning several trophies in various contests organized all over the kingdom.























The key to the Eagles’ win was their strategy and the close co-ordination between the team members on the field.   

Eagles Padubidri first chose to field after winning the toss. The match was tightly contested with each moment bringing anxiety and excitement for the players and the audience alike.


The Eagles won by five wickets. There were 12 overs in the match. Mansoor and Iqbal Mayyaddi of Eagles were adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Best Bowler’, respectively. The trophy was handed over to Eagles captain Mohammad Ali B.K and other team members.   


Khasim Ahmed, president, JF-Riyadh Unit, Abbas Uchila, president, DKMO, Riyadh, Mansoor, president, Mulky Muslim Association for Charity, Shamshudin Mulky, captain, Seven Star Mulky,  Riyadh, Saali A F S, Mohammed Bellechar, Br Abdul Kareem Kalmata (Ericsson Co.),  Althaf Bajpe, Ayaaz , Br Haneef ( Ericsson), and Abdul Lathief  were present on the occasion to witness the grand finale. 


Kareem and Shakeel were the commentators in Hindi, and English and Kannada, respectively.


Finally, a special function was also arranged by Seven Star and other Mulky Jamath members to release a booklet named ‘Backbiting’, published by Mulky Muslim Association for Charity.




















 


Khasim Ahmed and Abbas Uchil released the booklet. The money from the sale of the booklets will be utilized for the needy and underprivileged persons in Mulky Jamath.

1st Runner-up - Seven Star Mulky
2nd Runner-up - Banakal Friends.
Man of the Match - Mansoor from Eagles Padubidri
Man of the Series - Imtiyaz from Seven Star Mulky
Best Bowler – Iqbal from Eagles Padubidri
Best Batsman – Riyaz from Seven Star Mulky

 
First semi-final match was between Eagles Padubidri and Mangalore Friends
Second semi-final match was between Seven Star Mulky and Banakal Friends
