The water streaming down from the hilly terrain located behind the house in question during the rainy season was the reason for the collapse of the walls, said one of the residents, Roopa saldanha. The neighbourers also said that the foundation of the house that was damaged due to the soggy earth, caused by the water flow, was the reason for the incident.
The two women residing inside the house at the time were alerted by the sound of the crash. They escaped unhurt by quickly venturing out of the house.
