Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 6: The nature’s festival, Vanmahotsav was celebrated at Carmel School on Friday, July 5 in the school auditorium.

A short cultural programme was organised by Class X A to spread the fragrance of love and concern towards the nature. It was also an occasion to release the school magazine and the joint secretary, Sr Maria Kripa, the chief guest of the day released the same.

This was followed by sowing of Farmcils. Farmcils are re- cycled paper pencils with seeds in it. They are pencils that will grow plants once planted in the soil. Once the pencil is too short to use, it can be used to grow plants in the soil.

Various plants of fruits and vegetables were displayed, in the ‘Fruit World’ and the ‘Veg World’, which was a unique experience to the students to know the plants and their produce. The Eco Club took active participation in organising the programme.

The programme was compered by Haniya, Nelvisha Crissel Rego, Chandrima Monteiro and Diya Gopal. Vote of thanks was rendered by Atiya Banu.
