Moodbidri, Jul 6: Dr G L Easwara Prasad, principal of Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE), Moodabidri has been nominated as member of the Academic Senate of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi by the Governor of Karnataka, the chancellor of University.

Dr Easwara Prasad will be the Member of Seventh Academic Senate of the University, VTU, for duration of three years from June 2019 to June 2022. Dr. Easwara Prasad has professional experience nearing four decades has done his PhD from IIT Delhi and is working as the principal of MITE since last six years.

He has also served as member of Board of Studies of VTU Belagavi from 2003 to 2008. He has also been the chairman, Board of Examiners, Civil Engineering University of Mysore previously. He has visited many Foreign Universities on Academic assignments to NUS Singapore, University of Cambridge, UK, George Mason University, USA, Binghamton University, USA. He also has been providing consultancy services for various Structural Designs.
