Karkala, Jun 24: Students of Mechanical Engineering of NMAM Institute of Technology won the prestigious 'FPSI award' of Fluid Power Society of India for their student project titled ‘Automatic Waste Segregator’ held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre on June 19.
The exhibition is being conducted every year on account of Pascal's Day. NMAM Institute of Technology has bagged this award for the second consecutive time. The team had tight competition with several prestigious institutions like PES University, Reva University etc and was adjourned with first prize by a panel comprising of professors from IITs and prestigious companies.
Students Rahul R Pai, Pavan J Bangera, Prajwal P and Mohammed Mubeen expressed delight over the victory. The project was guided by Rashmi Shetty, assistant professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at NMAMIT. The project was well appreciated by eminent personalities of industries and academia. Dr Shashikanth Karinka, HOD of Mechanical Engineering and chairman of FPSI Nitte chapter and Raghavendra Pai, institute coordinator also guided these students to participate in the event.
