Mangaluru, May 31: The ninth graduation ceremony of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) will be held on Saturday June 1 at 3.00 pm at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius PU College Campus, here.

It is a time to celebrate and congratulate the students for the efforts they put in to obtain their degrees. Graduates will receive their degree certificates, medals and awards.

Fr Dr Thomas C Mathew, former vice chancellor, Christ (Deemed-to-be-University), Bengaluru will be the chief guest and deliver the Graduation Day address.

Fr Dr Stanislaus D’Souza, SJ, president, Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society (MJES) and Provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province; Fr Dionysius Vaz, SJ, vice-president, Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society (MJES) and rector, St Aloysius Institutions will grace the occasion.

Principal, members of the governing body, Academic Council and staff will be present. Invitees are requested to present the invite card at the entrance of the venue and occupy their seats by 2.45 pm.

Around 1000 graduates have registered to participate in the Graduation ceremony and receive their convocation certificates during the programme.

The motto of the college, 'Lucet et Ardet' which means 'shine to enkindle' has inspired countless students to become men and women for and with others, thus bringing light and joy into the lives of people. Thousands of students who passed through the portals of this institution have rendered outstanding service to humankind not only in India but across the globe. The college is extremely proud of its alumni/ae who have turned into agents of radical social change.
