Mangaluru, Apr 26: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) in association with IDP Education, Mangaluru, organized International University Fair, on April 25, which was a half-day long interaction event for students of II PU and Final Year Engineering of Mangaluru Region, who are planning to study abroad. The event was planned and organized by the Office of Collaborations of SJEC under the leadership of Diana Monteiro and Keith Fernandes.
Delegates from internationally reputed and highly ranked universities participated in this fair. They guided more than 100 interested students and their parents on how to apply for universities, details of various scholarships the students can avail and information regarding post-study career opportunities in Australia. Some of the universities that participated in the fair were Deakin University, Flinders University, James Cook University-Townsville, Monash University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Swinburne University of Technology, University of Adelaide, University of Canberra, University of South Australia and Western Sydney University.
The delegates also had an interaction with the management of SJEC wherein Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC, expressed the institute's interest in building a stronger association with these universities. He mentioned that a growing engineering institution like SJEC would benefit from having collaboration with the universities across the world, especially Australia. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Chief of R&D at SJEC, were the other members present on the occasion.
The fair also had international destination experts of IDP working with the students and helping them take effective decisions regarding their higher education options. The representatives from ICICI Bank also helped the students with respect to the finance options that they can avail.
