Moodbidri, Mar 26: Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), here will organise its annual state level intercollegiate cultural, technical and management fest - Sentia 2019 on March 27 and 28.

MITE has a proud tradition of organizing its annual cultural event - Sentia since its inception, to give an opportunity to showcase the talents of all students and staff.

The twelfth edition of Sentia will, like in the previous years witness best of the performers from across the state competing in various events amongst themselves to win the coveted annual trophy. In each and every activity undertaken for realization and continuation of MITE, the focus has been to provide a conducive and stimulating atmosphere for the students to learn and absorb knowledge and skills. The annual festival in the campus is to encourage, bring out and promote various talents of the students and staff.

The annual event has been celebrated since inception of the college and has later extended to state level intercollegiate competition. As in the previous years, pre-registration has witnessed a surge in the registration of students and colleges across Karnataka. This edition will witness talents across Karnataka participate in a total of 68 events conducted simultaneously in ten different venues in the span of two days. Around 1700+ Students from 45 Engineering & Management institutes across Karnataka have already registered for the event.

The two day fest includes traditional, modern and ultra-modern forms of literary, cultural, art, off-beat, technical and management events. Multiple events will be conducted in various categories of - dance, music, literary, art, theatre events, gaming. Management and technical events across the domains of computers, Electronics, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil, Mechatronics will also be organized. Special events like Robo Wars, 3D Modeling, Creative Modeling will test the skills of students from engineering colleges. Unique events like Battle of Bands, where invited teams will be battling out in the musical category. As a unique proposition and to be fair in judgement, the students of MITE never take part in any of the events, but only play host to the teams arriving with lots of expectations from Sentia.

The gala two day event will conclude on the evening of March 28 with the one of its kind Sentia Award Nite, with popular Bollywood playback singer and performer Mika Singh's live performance. Best dance performances will also be showcased in the event.

The Award Nite in the previous years had shows from famous playback singers like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Ankit Tiwary, Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan and Sunidhi Chauhan. The total prize money for this edition of Sentia is about Rs 10 lac.

The two day event will be inaugurated by Brijesh S, chief people officer, Torry Harris Business Solutions, Bengaluru and Rajesh Chouta, chairman Rajalaxmi Education Trust, Mangaluru.

MITE invites all to be part of this event. Sentia 2019 will be inaugurated on March 27 at 9.30 am.

On March 30, the Annual Day will be celebrated, wherein the annual achievements of the students and the institute will be showcased, along with top performances by the students.

The chief guest for the Annual Day celebration is Nagesh K P, head – Data Service Line & BFSI cluster, SLK Software, Bengaluru.
