Puttur, Feb 28: A case of negligence has been registered against the governing council of Badriya Jumma Masjid in Turkalike, Tannirpanth village, at Uppinangady police station, in connection with the wall collapse incident of February 26. The death toll in the tragedy has since risen to five, while 15 injured are being treated in various hospitals.
Ahmed (52) from Kalenjabail, Mohammed Rafiq (25) from Bantwal Sidakatte, Mohammed Ashraf (45) from Puttur Nehrunagar, Sadiq (15) son of Kuppetty Abuabakker and Muzammil (15) son of Kuppetty Hamid had lost their lives in the incident.
In the meanwhile, JD (S) state general secretary Vittal Mohammed Kunhi had urged the state government to pay compensation to the families of the deceased and the injured persons relating to the said tragedy.
