Udupi: Moral values must start at home - Sister Anita D'Souza

Media Release

Udupi. Oct 25: “Instilling values at home and encouraging parents to nurture discipline, respect, and compassion in their children is essential,” said Sister Anita D'Souza, principal of Milagres High School, Kallianpur.

She was speaking at a recent gathering of mothers at Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte. Sister Anita emphasized that students' behavior often mirrors their home environment, urging parents to take the lead in teaching kindness, patience, and helpfulness. "If we wish to shape a socially-conscious generation, moral values must start at home," she stated.

During the event, 10th-grade students, along with their parents, took a pledge to uphold their responsibilities at home, in school, and within society, promising to live respectfully and honorably. The assistant parish priest, presiding over the gathering, observed, “Nature has much to teach us, and our traditions have always connected us to it. May the festival of lights brighten our hearts,” he added.

The event, attended by 133 parents and students, began with a welcome address by school principal Sister Ancilla D'Mello. Alwyn Danthi led the program, and teacher Sara delivered the vote of thanks.
