Mangaluru, Mar 6: National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team visited Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru on March 1 and 2 for the assessment of the college.
Prof Atal Chaudhuri, vice chancellor, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla Orissa was the chairman of the team. Prof Shyamlal Soni, director, National Institute of Technology, Srinagar Uttarkhand & Prof V S Adane Adane, Prof Department of Architecture & Planning, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Maharastra were the members of the peer team.
During the two-day visit, the team collected detailed information of teaching-learning process, research activities, human resource, infrastructure and administrative matters. They appreciated the overall progress and functioning of the college. The team held a discussion with the management of the collage and other stake holders like staff, students, parents and Alumni. They explained the importance of assessment and accreditation of the colleges. From the view of continuous improvement, they gave many suggestions.
The two days visit was co-ordinated by principal of the college Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) co-ordinator Dr Thomas Pinto and NAAC core committee members.
