Mangaluru, Jan 31: Vikas Group of Institutions has planned to start BCom with Aviation course in the next academic year 2019-2020. To bring awareness about aviation course, Vikas Pre-University College, Mangaluru, conducted ‘Introductory Session on Aviation -2019’ programme on Wednesday, January 30.

Priya Medappa, placement director of Tailwind Institute of Aviation, advised the students about aviation courses and aviation management.

Maria Pawar, certified international image coach, Master Aviation specialised, author and public speaker, briefed the students about International Air Transport Association (IATA), a private organization promoting cooperation among the world’s scheduled airlines to ensure safe, secure, reliable, and economical air services and she also spoke about International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Dawn Adithya Prakash, assistant professor and trainer, SDM Post Graduation Center for R&M, said that aviation is one of the trending industries. It grooms and shapes personality and enriches the person’s traits like situational awareness, self-confidence, humility, clear communication skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure. He also added that traveling by flight was considered luxury but now it has turned to be necessity just like computer.

Student airhostess, Dr Suneel B M, principal, Vikas PU College, Ayshwarya Rao, commerce coordinator, Vikas PU College, Suguna Nayak, HOD, Commerce department, were present. Deepika Shetty, lecturer in Commerce, compered the programme.
