Udupi, Jan 4: Regarding the missing boat 'Suvarna Thribhuja', district BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, addressing the media at the Town BJP office at Kadiyali here on Friday, January 4, said, "This is the first incident in history. Seven fishermen along with the boat have disappeared without any notice. BJP appealed to the union minister, Nithin Gadkari and MP to hold serious investigation on the case. Defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman also directed the naval division to start the search operation."
"There is a chance that the boat might have been hijacked or detained by pirates or has crossed its boundary. But no clues are available on the spot of disappearance of the boat, it is learnt. The families of seven fishermen are in a desperate situation. It has become difficult to convince them. The district BJP is putting all efforts," said Mattaru.

Minister Venkat Rao stayed at Gangolli village overnight during the election time, but this time he did not turn his eyes on the incident. Let the government express its stand on the fishermen. BJP will pray for them and hoping that they come back alive and safe. BJP will support the protest of fishermen associations' to be held on January 6."
