Bantwal, Nov 18: The taluk-level Bhakta Kanakadasa Jayanti was celebrated on Monday, November 18 at the Mini Vidhana Soudha in B C Road.
The event, organized by the National Festivals Celebration Committee, was inaugurated by deputy tahsildar Rajesh Naik, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Kanakadasa, who conveyed life lessons through literature, transcended caste, religion, and social divides, and made people aware of societal ills in a language they could understand, thus leading a social revolution.”
Election deputy tahsildar Naveen Benjanapadavu, addressing the gathering, remarked, “Kanakadasa, a great personality from our Tulunadu, even attracted the divine and was blessed to see Lord Krishna through the Kanaka window in Udupi. May Kanakadasa Jayanti provide all of us with the opportunity to learn great values.”
Also present on the occasion were food inspector M N Ravi, National Festivals Celebration Committee coordinator Vishukumar, taluk office staff, village administration officers, and village assistants.
