Bengaluru, Dec 1: Congress party’s Nataraj Gowda and Surya Mukundraj have lodged a police complaint in the city police station against ‘Postcard’ founder Mahesh Vikram Hegde, alleging that he has published insulting material on Facebook against Congress party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
The complaint handed over to police commissioner T Sunil Kumar states that Mahesh has published a post using derogatory words against Congress party activists. The complaint urges police to take suitable action against him.
Earlier, Mahesh Vikram Hegde, was arrested by the police for publishing fake news on Postcard website alleging that Muslim youth had attacked a Jain sage, whereas the reality was that the sage had met with an accident.
Postcard News is known for often publishing and circulating fake news especially those that are communally divisive in nature. In November 2017, an FIR had been registered against Postcard News for publishing an alleged derogatory post. Incidentally, Mahesh Hegde is followed by PM Narendra Modi on Twitter, a fact that Hegde proudly proclaims in his Twitter profile.
