Mangaluru, Sep 28: Trauma care is providing care for patients suffering from major traumatic injuries such as heart-attack, wheezing, falls, motor vehicle collisions, snakebite, falling off the stairs, suffocation feeling while eating, etc. A workshop for staff members on providing trauma care was jointly organized by Rotary Club Mangaluru city and Vikas PU College, Mangaluru, on Thursday, September 27.
Dr Sudhakar T, orthopedic surgeon, Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru, guided the participants through audio-visual presentation how to provide first-aid to the victims of road accident, electric shock, thunder lightning, flood, fire, snakebite, falling off the stairs, suffocation feeling while eating, falling unconscious, weakening of pulse rate, etc.
Dr Ranjan, president, Rotary Club Mangaluru city, Anesthetic surgeon, KMC Mangaluru senior professor, told the importance of saving the lives of the accident victims. The programme was attended by Prashanth Rai, secretary, Rotary Club Mangaluru city, M V Mallya, publicity consultant, Rotary Club Mangaluru City, Shailendra Pai and Sumith Rao, Rotary Club, Mangaluru city, Dr Ananth Prabhu G, advisor, Vikas Group of Institutions, Parthasarathi J Palemar, coordinator, Vikas Group of Institutions, Dr Manjula Rao, counselor, Vikas Group of Institutions, and Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal, Vikas PU College, were present on the occasion.
Ajith Rai, lecturer in Kannada, welcomed the gathering, and Laxmeesha Bhat delivered the vote of thanks.
