Mangaluru, Sep 23: An exuberant musical saga, ‘Musical Day 2018’ was celebrated on September 21 in the pretorium of St Aloysius PU College.
The chief guest of the programme Shilpa Tejaswini Cutinho, singer and composer in her chief guest address, appreciated and thanked the coordinators for inviting her and recollected her good old days at SAPUC. Principal Fr Melwin Mendonca expressed that music can change the world and it should help build bridges and eliminate barriers of jealousy and hatred.
Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Dionysus Vaz in his presidential address stated that music goes beyond oral communication and SAPUC gives an adequate platform to discover, appreciate and applaud the talents of youngsters.
Sharada, the coordinator welcomed the gathering and Assumptha Crasta rendered the vote of thanks. Jennifer Pinto introduced the chief guest. Also on the dais were the finance office Fr John Lang Bosco, vice-principals Charlotte D'Souza and Muralikrishna G M and student co-ordinators. On this occasion the toppers of 1st and 2nd PUC in the second class test were felicitated.
The formal programme was followed by an overwhelming musical performance by the chief guest Shilpa T Cutinho and a galaxy of performances by young budding musicians. The programme culminated with a grand baila performance.
