Mangaluru: Kandavara gram panchayat secretary commits suicide

Mangaluru, Aug 31: Murunal (46), who was working as secretary of Kandavara gram panchayat, ended his life at Yekkar near Bajpe on the night of Wednesday August 29.

Murunal had retired for the night after dinner on Wednesday night. He was sleeping in the hall of his house at Yekkar. At 4.30 am on Thursday, he was found hanging from a rope in the store room of his residence.

The deceased had earlier served Permude and Paduperara panchayats in the capacity of secretary. He has left behind wife and two sons. Reason for this extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.

Bajpe police have undertaken investigation.
