Mangaluru, Aug 31: A woman residing in Nekara Colony at Kammaje near Kinnigoli ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. This tragic incident happened on Thursday August 30 morning. The identity of the woman has been given as Shalet Pinto (35).
Shalet Pinto ended her life by using a noose tied to the ceiling fan. As she chose to kill herself after all her three children went to school, it came to light after the children came back home in the evening.
The children, who returned from school and knocked at the door, were surprised as their mother did not open the door for them for long. They decided to sit outside and wait for their mother as they felt that she might be deep asleep. After a long time, the eldest son of the woman went to the rear side of the house and peeped from the rear door when he realized that she his mother was no more.
Reportedly Shalet, in a message recorded in her mobile phone, said that she decided to kill herself, having been psychologically drained out. Her husband, it is said, works in the film industry at Bengaluru. Her children were students of Rotary school at Kinnigoli.
A case in this regard was registered in Mulky police station. Police personnel visited the spot and began their probe.
