Kundapur, Aug 30: Police arrested a fraudster who approached a person and assured him of getting a mobile tower installed in his land by which he can get regular rental income, took the man to the office of the sub-registrar and flicked his mobile and Rs 7,000 in cash. Ilyas Pathan (53), son of Isubu Amir Pathan, a resident of Nippani road, Belagavi is the person who was arrested from Belagavi.
It is alleged that Ilyas had come to Kundapur in his Alto car on July 27 and had approached G Hasainar, a resident of Kundapur, went to his home and said that he will get the mobile tower of Reliance company installed in his land by which Hasainar can get a regular rental income of Rs 15,000. The accused, Ilyas, took Hasainar to the sub-registrar's office on the pretext of getting registration done for the said work.
Ilyas had taken Rs 7,000 from Hasainar as the cost of registration and also asked him for the Aadhar card in order to complete the process of registration. When Hasainar told Ilyas that he has his Aadhar details in his mobile, Ilyas took his mobile phone also and disappeared from the spot.
Kundapur police arrested the accused by tracking the mobile phone location of Hasainar, which was flicked by Ilyas and also confiscated his Alto car. The arrested, Ilyas, was produced in the court.
