Bengaluru, Aug 30: "The coalition government has completed 100 days. Our government has given efficient administration. As per my assessment, this government deserves to be given ten out of ten points for its performance. As it has been just 100 days since our government came into being, assessment of performances of individual ministers would not be undertaken now. As per the instructions of All India Congress Committee president, Rahul Gandhi, evaluation of performances of all the Congress ministers would be undertaken at the end of six months of the government," said deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwar.
Addressing a press meet organized on Wednesday at Yavanika auditorium in the city on the occasion of the government completing 100 days in office, he gave full credit to the state government for taking important decisions like waiver of farm loans in cooperative and nationalized banks. "We have implemented several people-friendly initiatives and given good governance. I give ten out of ten points to the performance of this government," he announced.
Parameshwar stated that there is no misunderstanding between his party and JD(S) but opposition parties have been creating confusions by predicting the fall of the government. He said that irrespective of the opposition efforts this government will last full five years and if minor problems arise in between, they would be sorted out.
Parameshwar took credit as Bengaluru development minister, for working to solve several problems faced by the city, removal of unauthorized cables for a distance of eight km, clearance of flexes, distribution of sites in Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda Layout etc.
He said that the state ministry will be expanded after the election to the urban local bodies. On a question about BJP leaders trying to attract Congress leaders from north Karnataka into their party, Parameshwar said that his party knows how to do damage control exercise. He said the party will take corrective measures connected with the desertion of Baburao Chinchansur.
He said that the state government has taken prompt action to provide relief to flood-hit districts and also those which are doriught-hit. He accused the Prime Miniser of neglecting Kodagu district which is ravaged by floods.
