Moodbidri: Sudarshan Jain murder - another accused arrested

Moodbidri, Aug 30: The personnel of the police station here arrested another accused relating to the murder of a man by his own brother with the help of a few others two weeks back allegedly for property.

The person now arrested happens to be Prabha alias Prabhakar Shetty (32) from Beltangady Arambody, a vehicle driver by profession.

Sudarshan Jain, employed in a cloth store here, was returning home at night on August 11 after his duty hours on the motor bike of his younger brother, Sudheer Jain.

Reportedly, Sudheer stopped the motor bike a little distance before reaching the residence, claiming that the vehicle had developed problems and asked Sudarshan to travel home by a car that was found parked nearby in which some friends of Sudheer were seated. The friends of Sudheer took the car somewhere else, stabbed Sudarshan and killed him by strangling his throat. The body was then tossed into river Falguni at Pucchemogaru. Body of Sudarshan had been found from near Maravoor dam on August 17.

Prabhakar reportedly had driven the car that was used on the day of the murder. The police had named him as one of the accused in this case. On being produced in court, Prabhakar was remanded to police custody till Thursday August 30.

With this, a total of four persons have so far been arrested in this case. Police personnel have been conducting further probe in the case.
