Bengaluru: Quarrel on frivolous issue culminates in murder of woman

Bengaluru, Aug 29: A couple fought among themselves over the issue of choosing a wife for their son. The fighting ended with the husband stabbing his wife to death. The husband fled after murdering his wife. This incident happened at Hosa Gurappanapalya on Bannerghatta Road here.

In this incident, Hameeda Begum (45) lost her life. Accused in the case, Sheikh Ataulla, who happens to the husband of the deceased, is absconding. The police are searching for him.

The couple lived in a small home in Biryani Galli. On Monday evening, the two had friction over finding a suitable match for their son. The wife stuck to her demand to bring daughter-in-law of her choice at any cost. Her husband, who lost patience when trying to convince her to change her stand, killed her and went away. The seriously injured lady was admitted into a nearby private hospital. She however breathed her last on Monday night.

The police said that Ataulla had informed a few of his relatives that he would surrender in police station on his own. They said he would be arrested soon and brought to book.
