Udupi: Minister Dr Jayamala visits houses of deceased Keerthan and Rakesh, condoles families

Udupi, Aug 23: Udupi district in-charge minister Dr Jayamala on Thursday, August 23 visited the houses of Keerthan Putran and Rakesh Belchada who died of electrocution near Farangi Island, Kemmannu.

She first visited the house of Keerthan and subsequently the house of Rakesh Belchada and sympathized his parents and family members.

She said that both the deceased were young men and they deserved to live for many more years. “Their death in unexpected accident is painful. I am sharing their grief. The lives that are lost cannot be brought back. The deaths of the young men has detached the pillars of support from their families. Rs five lac have been arranged as immediate compensation from Mescom to help the families,” she said after the visits.



Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj and Udupi district congress president Janardhan Thonse were present during the visits.

The minister asked Mescom officials on the spot to remove electric cables which have snapped and electric poles that are likely to be dangerous in residential areas.
