Mangaluru: Dr Sangeeta K Amin secures first rank in NEET-SS exam

Mangaluru, Jul 24: In the NEET - SS (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty) exams for the year 2018, Dr Sangeeta K MBBS, MS, DNB (OBG), MRCOG-I, a resident of Mangaluru has bagged the first rank.

Dr Sangeeta is the daughter of Madhav Kotian and Hemavathi Amin couple, residents of Kunjathbail in the city. She is married to Dr Ajay Kumar, MBBS, MS, (Mch - Surgical Oncology). Presently both are working as surgeons in Ahmedabad.

NEET - SS examination was conducted all over India on July 6. As many as 529 gynecologists from all over the country had competed in this examination for only the six seats that are available. Dr Sangeeta had written the examination from Hyderabad center.

Dr Sangeeta studied MBBS from the prestigious Yenepoya Medical College in the city and had secured distinction in the Dakshina Kannada district. She did her MS in OBG (Obstetrician and Gynaecology) from Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences, Ballary. She was awarded DNB - OBG by NBE (National Board of Examination). Dr Sangeeta had served as an assistant professor in Srinivas Institue College in Mukka.

Dr Ajay Manvikar, husband of Dr Sangeeta has also secured a gold medal in the MS examination. In addition, he had secured the fourth rank in the All India NEET - SS 2017 examination conducted for Mch - Surgical Oncology/Head-neck Oncology.

Both are presently pursuing Mch course in Ahmedabad.
