Mangaluru, Jul 21: "I am not new to Ullal Dargah. My family and I used to visit the Dargah regularly since the last 35 years. We will ensure that a grant of two crore rupees sanctioned for Banath College here by the government will be released soon," said Karnataka Wakf minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan. He also promised to personally donate ten lac rupees for the kitchen being built for catering to the food needs of devotees.
The minister was speaking after visiting Ullal Dargah on Friday July 20 where he laid the foundation stone for the kitchen.
Noting that the Dargah here gets a large number of devotees from near and far, he appreciated the concerned for conceiving the plan to provide food to the visitors. He said he would hold discussions with minister Khader on facilities if any which can be provided by the government for the construction of this kitchen and make arrangements to release the eligible funds if any at the earliest.
On the occasion, Zameer Ahmed Khan was extended felicitation by president of the Dargah committee, Abdul Rashid, who draped a shawl around the visiting minister. Dakshina Kannada district wakf committee pesident, Haji U K Monu Kanachur, Dargah general secretary, Haji muhammed Twaha, vice president, U K Monu Ismail, Bava Muhammed, chatrtered accountant, Illyas Thota, joint secretary, Naushad Melangady, Azad Ismail and several others were present.
