Bengaluru, Mar 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed a gathering of "Yuvashakti Aspotana" in Tumakuru over video conferencing on Sunday, has warmly lauded the contribution of the Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swamiji for the cause of education and nation building.
Expressing his inability to personally attend the valedictory of the 'Rajathayana' silver jubilee celebrations of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashram, in Tumakuru on Sunday due to the ongoing session of parliament.
In his 20 minute address over video conferencing, Modi began his speech in Kannada and lauded the service rendered by the Siddaganga Math seer Shivakumara Swamiji to the cause of education.
The Prime Minister said the seer has trodden the path shown by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda in nation building and said the country was grateful for such enlightened leaders.
Modi said he was delighted to speak to the youth as there was a lot to learn from the younger generation.
The Prime Minister called upon the youth to strive for realising the dream of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for building modern India and also the stalwarts who contributed a lot for nation building.
He, however, utilised the opportunity to remind the younger generation of the ruling BJP’s victories in Tripura and other North-Eastern States and said the people of those states have shown that they want to join the mainstream and become part of the development process.
