Mangaluru, Mar 1: The inauguration of the much-awaited 3D planetarium in Pilikula here on Thursday March 1 saw heated exchange of words between Congress MLAs Mohiuddin Bava of Mangaluru North and Abhaychandra Jain of Moodbidri, apparently over issue of party tickets in the upcoming elections.
It is learnt that just before the unveiling of the Swami Vivekananda 3D planetarium's name board, the two MLAs openly engaged in a quarrel even as people watched.
Apparently, the angry outburst pertained to issue of Congress ticket to mayor Kavita Sanil who is on the threshold of completing her term.
MLA Bava reportedly told MLA Abhaychadra Jain that as Kavita Sanil's term as mayor was coming to an end soon, she could be an aspirant for the ticket in Moodbidri constituency. However, Abhaychandra Jain reportedly lost patience when the name of his constituency was mentioned, and lashed out at Bava, who in turn responded in equal measure. The supporters who intervened immediately succeeded in pacifying both of them.
Abhaychandra Jain had expressed his anger openly with political leaders in the past. He had sparred with MLC Ivan D'Souza during the visit of chief minister Siddaramaiah three months ago.
The list of ticket aspirants is growing since Abhaychandra Jain had announced that he would not contest the elections and would make way for a young Congress candidate.
