Udupi: Mini lorry rams into bridge near Santhekatte - Traffic choked for over an hour

Udupi, Sep 22: Traffic was affected for over an hour near Santhekatte here on the night of Friday September 22, after a mini lorry dashed into the wall of a bridge.

The accident took place on the bridge between KG Road and Santhekatte.

The mini lorry carrying wooden planks from Udupi to Brahmavar when the accident took place. The driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the bridge wall and overturned.

The driver and the cleaner of the mini lorry were injured in the accident.

As it was an open vehicle, the wooden planks fell on the road. People rushed to help the injured persons and took them to hospital.

The bridge is one-way and traffic was affected for over an hour due to the accident.

    Speed has to be controlled...
    When we are within controllable speed vehicle can be brought to safety...
    Excess in anything is bad and harmful...
    I am sure only carelessness is the reason behind this accident of a commercial truck....
